Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Minister Susi Pudjiastuti will visit Japan to offer investment opportunities in the fishery and maritime sector to the country’s businesspeople.

Susi will be accompanied by noted businessman Rahmat Gobel, who is known for his positive relationship with Japanese businesspeople.

“We will meet with Japanese businesspeople. Pak Gobel knows how to deal with people in the Japanese chamber of commerce and industry,” said Susi as reported by tribunnews.com on Friday.

Susi said she would offer investment opportunities in a number of areas, including Natuna, Riau Islands, Morotai in Maluku and Sabang in Aceh.

She said Japan had shown interest in developing fish manufacturing facilities in the three regions. “We will offer another three places [to Japanese businesspeople],” said Susi, who did not specify when she would depart for Japan.
